Burmese Teak

Mostly straight grain, resistant to rot and termites. Some resistance to marine borers and powder post beetles. Following the February 2021 military take over of Myanmar, sanctions were placed on imported teak limiting the available stock.

aPPLICATIONS:

Ship/boatbuilding, veneers, furniture, outdoor construction and other small projects. Teak is prized for its durability, and as such is generally reserved for our marine clients.

Pale straw color, veneer slightly darker, poor insect/ borer resistance, good workability, machines, glues, finishes and turns well.

Sitka Spruce

Sitka Spruce has a fine, even texture, and a consistently straight grain. Ranges from cream/white to yellow; heartwood can also exhibit a subtle pinkish red hue in some instances. Heartwood is rated as being slightly resistant to non-resistant to decay.

Low to medium weight, soft wood, good dimensional stability, workability, and finishing
